Winter Camp - Collective Bargaining & Negotiations
 
OASPA will be offering a Winter Camp on Friday, January 24, 2020. This camp follows the September Boot Camp which OASPA offered to new HR administrators. The Winter Camp will focus entirely on Collective Bargaining and Negotiations. It will be open not only to OASPA members but also superintendents, treasurers and any other administrators who are involved in the collective bargaining process. The Winter Camp will be held at the DoubleTree by Hilton, Columbus-Worthington. 
 
At the seminar, you will hear about the following topics from seasoned school district administrators and school law attorneys:
  • Negotiations for Newbies - What to Expect your First Time at the Table
  • How Teams Effectively Tackle Conflicts
  • Hot Topics in Negotiations for Schools in 2018 and Beyond
  • Legal Compliance During and After Negotiations
The format for the seminar will include individual presentations followed by a panel discussion. Ample time will be devoted to Q&A.

HR Essentials for Classified Supervisors
 
The OASPA Board is pleased to present again a conference HR Essentials for Classified Supervisors on Friday, January 24, 2020 at the DoubleTree by Hilton, Columbus-Worthington. This workshop will run concurrently with the Winter Camp.
 
The cost for OASPA members, and attendees from districts which have an OASPA member, is $150; the cost for attendees from districts which do not have an OASPA members is $250.

Marion Stout, OASPA Treasurer and Director of Human Resources for the Montgomery County ESC, will discuss the tenets of Effective Leadership.
 
Vince Utterback, Business Manager for the Pickerington City Schools, will present tips on Finding and Keeping the Right People.
 
After lunch Pam Leist, from Ennis Britton, will discuss discipline, evaluations, and handling the day-to-day HR issues which supervisors must manage.
 
The OASPA Board hopes this workshop will help fill the HR gap for your classified supervisors.

OASPA Offers a Seminar for Administrative Assistants
Thursday & Friday, February 6 & 7, 2020

Registration is $200 for assistants who work in a district with an OASPA member and $250 for those who work in a district in which there is not an OASPA member.
